Ruth came to Goodwill Industries of East Texas in October of 2013.  She was hired as a Costing Specialist, setting the piece rate for new contracts.  A short time later, Ruth moved to Production Management at Commercial Services.  This was the perfect training ground for Ruth to become Director of Commercial Services in 2015.  Since Ruth has been director, she has been privileged to be a part of giving those with barriers to employment an opportunity to train, learn and grow to become productive employees for Goodwill and various other companies around Tyler.  Ruth loves to see those with barriers learn new skills and gain confidence in their abilities.  Everyone wants to be a contributing and working member of society and Goodwill Commercial Services gives that opportunity to all employees and consumers.

Ruth and her team have expanded business opportunities at Commercial Services over the years.   Commercial Services provides roadside delineators to the TXDOTS across Texas, provides Trane with several essential components for AC units daily, performs warehousing and pick/pack operations for various companies as well as other miscellaneous contracts for local, state and national companies.  The wide variety of contracts ensures that all of our employees and consumers, regardless of their barrier, can work and contribute to their success.

Ruth graduated from Iowa State University with a BS in Industrial Engineering.  She has worked for Dayco, HON and Raven Industries before finding her way to Goodwill Industries of East Texas.  She is married to her wonderful husband Rich and they have three children.
