Job Fair & Resource Event | Empowering Our Community One Step at a Time

Take the Step 2025 is a one-day job skills and job fair event designed to support individuals in East Texas who are ready to take their next step toward employment and stability. Whether you’re looking for a job, need interview clothing, or could use a little help getting started—this event is for you.

Located at the First Christian Church of Tyler in the Christian Life Center on campus, at 4202 S. Broadway Ave., attendees will have access to:

  • On-site job applications with local employers
  • Free interview-ready clothing
  • Resume building and job coaching assistance
  • Referrals to essential services such as housing, food, transportation, and more

This event is open to anyone in need—early registration is encouraged. We believe that everyone deserves the tools and support to succeed, and Take the Step 2025 is here to help you move forward with confidence.

The Take the Step event was developed by

a network of organizations as a unique response to the employment needs identified during ETHNN’s community needs assessment.

The purpose of Take the Step is to:

1. Provide a venue to connect job seekers with providers of employment resources.

2. Facilitate the development of job skills among job seekers that align with the needs of local employers.

3. To provide resources to the community

The objectives of Take the Step are:

1. Decrease employment barriers.

2. Enhance employment skills.

3. Improve employment retention.

The 2023 CCNA data 

showed that the top 10 employment and/or work-related needs identified by survey participants are presented in the table below. The top three needs were job skills training, work clothes, and equipment needed for work such as a computer.
