My Story: Treseme Turner

When Treseme was referred to Goodwill Industries of East Texas, she was a shy but very respectful young lady. She had dreams and goals but needed help identifying her best qualities and finding employment.

It was about this time last year when Treseme enrolled in Goodwill’s Work Adjustment Training Program. She was a high school senior at Longview High School and looking for some direction as she approached adulthood. Her shyness and her learning disability were barriers for her, but she was determined to overcome them. She graduated from the Work Adjustment Training Program, where she learned skills pertinent to the retail field, customer service, interpersonal skills, hygiene, and social skills. A Goodwill Employment Specialist began to work with Treseme on interviewing skills, resume writing and job seeking, as well.

Treseme graduated from the training program and high school. Soon after, she landed a job at On The Border restaurant. She’s saving her money to buy her first car!

“Treseme is performing very well and has flourished. Treseme’s performance has earned her additional duties. We love her here,” said Bar Manager, Derrick Bauman.

Congratulations Treseme! We are so proud of you!
